Our line of MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) charge controllers are designed to extract the maximum possible power from your solar panels at any given time by continuously adjusting the electrical operating point of the solar panels, thus optimising the connection between solar panels and battery bank.

Unlike PWM controllers, which simply connect the panel directly to the battery, MPPT controllers adjust their input to capture the maximum power from the solar panels. This is particularly useful under varying weather conditions, where the amount of sunlight and the temperature can significantly affect the performance of your solar panels.

Be it sunny or cloudy, this MPPT charge controller intelligently adjusts its input to harvest the maximize power from the solar panels, ensuring that the system operates at its peak efficiency regardless of the environmental conditions. This leads to faster charging times, prolonged battery life, and a more efficient solar energy system overall.

Main features of MPPT charge controller:

  • Active tracking of the I-V curve of the PV modules (Solar panels) to draw maximum available power in any weather conditions.
  • Typically harvest 25% to 30% more power than a PWM charge controller, when an 18V PV is used to charge 12V battery, and much higher efficiency with higher PV voltage.
  • Allows to use PV module with a higher voltage output than operating voltage of battery system. For example, if PV module has to be placed far away from charge controller and battery, its wire size must be very large to reduce voltage drop. With a MPPT solar charge controller, users can wire PV module in series, thus increasing the voltage and reducing current transmission losses, thus reducing the wire size needed while retaining full output of PV module.
  • Can be used for other renewable energy sources such as small water turbines, wind-power turbines, etc.
